As a Senior Mechanical Engineer in the Nuclear Systems Dept., I play a pivotal role in shaping the future of sustainable energy through my involvement in the ITER Project. My primary focus lies in designing complex mechanical components for the Remote Handling Systems, ensuring optimal functionality, maintenance, and reparability without the need for human presence inside the Nuclear Reactor during exceptional operations or failures.

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer at HP, my role is to provide the technical knowledge and support for Mechanical Design strategies and design of components for HP Printing products. Responsible for researching, creating and developing exciting new concepts and specifications that optimizes the function, ergonomics, value, cost and appearance of HP Printing products and systems for the mutual benefit of HP print business, customers, users and partners. Work within this job family falls into four major categories:

· Enhancements and/or changes to original designs and extensions to existing programs.

· New product designs from concept to production.

· Optimization of current designs to achieve significant cost reductions on the manufacturing processes for the different large format printing platforms. Responsibilities:

-Participate actively in the new product development phases ensuring the designs align with Operations capabilities.

- Lead the phase change from development to mass production.

- Keep a track on the quality and validation tests as well as production phases detecting and reporting errors or problems in the product and providing the R&D dept. with the information needed to correct the issues.

- Use the know-how from previous projects and products to adjust the production methods, parts and providers used to control the overall costs.

- Be the communication nexus between management and the team members.

- To establish and manage Mechanical Design projects and work streams including schedule, resources, deliverables and reviews, in partnership with the other design teams and the 3D print development programs.

- To review and evaluate designs and project activities for compliance with Mechanical design and development guidelines and standards; provide tangible feedback to improve product quality and user experience.

- To provide guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members.

Define and manage a commodity plan for each programme, Air Intake, Cooling and Lubrication Hoses and Pipes, including design and manufacturing lead times as well as alignment to engine and vehicle programme timing. Complete Change Tracking Documents and Engineering Release Notices to allow engineering changes to be approved by the AML organisation. Resolve engineering Concerns via AML eCMS and within the timing guidelines. Present programme status to Powertrain Unit Gateways, support Powertrain design reviews, AML Package Meetings & Powertrain PMT meetings. Support and/or lead DFMEAs and input to manufacturing PFMEAs. Must achieve programme deadlines as defined by AM-PCS Gateway deliverables. Deliver new or modified Engine System(s) into production whilst achieving: Quality: Use Aston Martin engineering quality systems (FMEAs, Robustness Studies etc) to identify and contain potential quality concerns. Cost: Support EPMT in definition of programme cost targets and work with suppliers to deliver system that achieves these targets. Weight: Support EPMT in definition of programme weight targets and manage CAD engineers to design system that achieves targets. Function: Generate robust System Design Specification to define system functional targets and deliver components to meet targets. Support Test and Development team with DVP planning and execution, whilst ensuring supplier tests are completed on time. Package: Manage CAD engineers to achieve static and dynamic clearance targets. Negotiate component change in other areas of Aston Martin Product Development if required to achieve clearances. Assembly: Work with manufacturing engineering to ensure that components can be assembled into vehicle repeatedly and within required cycle time. Use the AM-PCS system (with support from the Powertrain Programme team) to track progress in completing Unit Gateway objectives.
