My role and responsibilities at Love2shop increased exponentially year on year, and I was responsible and accountable for all transactional websites and mobile apps including Love2shop (web and app), Park Christmas Savings (web and app) and the MBL suite of systems. I oversaw four teams - full stack Java engineers, full stack PHP engineers, front-end engineers and test analysts. In my time I oversaw a 23% uplift in team job satisfaction, as reported by the Great Place To Work survey.

In my brief stint as Interim Head of Engineering, I successfully overhauled a flat team structure by installing career pathways, which re-energized and motivated staff. This continued a trend of significant growth in the department, where I have helped transform it from a small team of a handful of developers into a multi-discipline group, thereby providing ample opportunities for personal development.

Successes for me during this period include: leading the engineering response to pivot the company's e-commerce strategy towards digital products within the first weeks of lockdown, ensuring business continuity; and onboarding an outsourced product with over 200 outstanding bugs with a team of new starters, achieving new feature deliveries in weekly sprints within a few months.
