About Alice
Hi! I'm Alice (she/they), and I'm a freelance writer who specialises in covering pop-culture, theatre, gaming and movies. I am also a playwright, working primarily with Dogmouth Theatre, working on genre-based stories (such as folk horror pieces) which put Queer women centre stage.
I am passionate about the representation of Queer women's voices in art and culture, and it is this which has driven me towards writing. I am very interested in topics around social justice, particularly in heavily male dominated creative industries. As a Queer, neurodivergent person myself, I am very interested in topics which allow me to decontruct patriarchal and ableist structures within the creative industries and beyond.

Founded in 2019 by playwright and theatremaker Alice Flynn, Dogmouth began its’ life after receiving a grant from Farnahm Maltings’ No Strings Attached scheme. From humble beginnings, the company has grown to produce a variety of work, including plays, fringe shows and cabaret. The company is led by neurodivergent, LGBTQ+ artists and their goal in founding the company was to provide a space for Queer women + marginalised genders, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds, to experiment, learn, develop and grow their practice free of judgement. They strive to create art on their own terms, without the constraints of patriarchal, capitalist and heirarchical models of working.
