I am a molecular biologist and IVD specialist with over 20 years of experience across academia and industry, offering expertise in molecular diagnostics, genomics and NGS to life sciences and healthcare organisations. My biotech experience includes positions at Oxford Nanopore Technologies, DNA Script, DNA Electronics, and Enigma Diagnostics.

I help clients solve complex scientific challenges and deliver innovative solutions, whether that means developing a new molecular assay or NGS workflow, building laboratory infrastructure and quality systems from the ground up, evaluating new technologies, managing a complex R&D programme, or providing senior scientific leadership on a flexible basis.

My background spans the full IVD development lifecycle, from proof-of-concept through to verification and validation, working within ISO 13485-regulated environments throughout. I have particular depth in NGS, including long-read and nanopore sequencing technologies, and have worked across multiple disease areas including inherited disease, oncology, infectious disease, immunogenetics and reproductive genetics.

I work independently through IntelliGene Diagnostics, based at the Oxford Science Park, and am available for project-based, consultancy or part-time engagements. I bring not just scientific expertise but the project management and leadership experience to ensure delivery.

R&D leader responsible for the conception and prototyping of molecular diagnostic tests for Oxford Nanopore Diagnostics.
Established and led the Diagnostic Applications team, a multidisciplinary group of molecular biologists and bioinformaticians specialising in IVD assay development
