Azure Governance - Assessed and analysed the organisation’s Azure usage across multiple departments, designing and recommending scalable governance frameworks to enhance control, compliance, and operational efficiency. Delivered strategic solutions aligned with best practices in cost management, policy enforcement, resource organisation, and role-based access control.

Technical Design and Infrastructure Delivery - Alongside governance responsibilities, delivered a range of targeted technical designs and implementations across the Azure and on-premises environments. This included developing security automation workflows to strengthen compliance and incident response, designing and executing virtual machine migration plans, and conducting detailed Active Directory health and configuration reviews to improve reliability and security posture.

Records Management System Architecture - Acted as lead architect for the design and delivery of the organisation’s new Records Management System. Worked closely with multiple third-party suppliers to define integration patterns, data flows, security boundaries, and operational responsibilities across interconnected systems. Designed the AWS platform underpinning the integrations, covering network architecture, security controls, identity integration, resilience, and scalability to support long-term operational and compliance requirements.

• Technical Leadership & Analysis: Supported West Mercia Police in analysing and determining business ownership of the VMB application estate. Provided technical expertise, aligning solutions with approved technology roadmaps.

• Risk Management & Oversight: Assumed the role of the overarching technical authority, serving as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for all technology-related aspects. Identified risks, developed contingency plans, and managed technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and their projects.

• Security Compliance & Collaboration: Ensured compliance with security principles and governance rules, liaising with internal and external security teams. Established

close working relationships with West Mercia Police's IT Security Officer (ITSO) and related stakeholders.

• Documentation & Technical Delivery: Delivered robust technical solutions in alignment with West Mercia Police architecture and security principles. Maintained high-quality technical documentation and adhered to standard templates for various documentation types.

• Stakeholder Engagement & Project Management: Acted as the principal technical representative for the DST programme, engaging with key stakeholders. Collaborated with workstream leads, identified cost-saving opportunities, and ensured project completion to required standards.

• Collaborate with stakeholders and IT functions to determine PCI DSS v3.2 compliance requirements, plan new solutions, and improve existing technical solutions.

• Migrate, rehost, and reconfigure systems to meet control requirements, and manage cloud-based services in line with NewDay policies.

• Resolve system issues and analyse SharePoint and Exchange migration to the cloud.

• Participate in CAB meetings, maintain documentation to improve support teams.
