I am the sole DevOps Engineer at a small business whereby I have been using and working with Bicep to automate the existing infrastructure which includes function apps, iothub, service bus, cosmos db. As the sole DevOps Engineer I have full responsibility of the whole Azure Environment from administering to deploying to cost to security to monitoring.

• ● Focusing on spend in Azure and looking for any savings that can be made whether via reservations or tidying up existing resources which are no longer required.

• ● Taking control of automating infrastructure via Bicep and deploying through YAML pipelines in Azure DevOps, to allow us to easily deploy any new environments.

• ● Creating templates within Bicep to enable infrastructure deployments of new products to be achieved much quicker.

• ● Looking at secure score in defender for cloud for improvements

• ● Making recommendations for improvements to existing resources to help eliminate any potential bottlenecks or security risks.

• ● Working with developers to deploy application related infrastructure via Bicep and Azure DevOps Pipelines to allow any application code to be deployed to environments to be tested and used by clients.

• ● Using Powershell to enable JustInTime access to Virtual Machines, update Storage Account TLS Versions to ensure security risks are minimised.

• ● Using Powershell to create a process of tracking Application Registration Secret Expiry to ensure no loss of downtime and to allow no loss of application updates via azure devops pipelines.

• ● Being involved in the administration side of Microsoft Fabric and Power Apps.

• ● Creating dashboards in Azure to help monitor any potential issues, such as db throttling.

• ● Providing logging of alerts from Azure resources into Teams to allow wider view of issues to support teams.

Since starting at Contino I have been on the bench but whilst on the bench I have been working on internal projects such as:

• ● Developing an Image Bakery in Azure with the use of Terraform to build out the image galleries and Packer to deploy out the images themselves.
