I am a freelance Design Engineer specialising in heavy engineering product development, FEA analysis and BOM production. a long history in producing high spec items in the offshore, water, mining and construction industries have driven me to create Detailed Design. From high end staircases to deep sea sampling equipment, I aim to benefit clients with my experience and development skills. Utilising solidworks professional and simulation professional to bring projects from inception into a developed product quicker.

Co-owner of Metal Surgery. Developing equipment to client specifications in the mining, water treatment, offshore and energy industries. Close interaction with clients to ascertain their requirements and develop accurate specifications prior to development of the equipment, producing BOMS and accurate costings throughout, developing SolidWorks parts, assemblies for FEA analysis and detailed drawings for manufacture after client approval. Providing detailed welding specifications or machining drawings to adhere to client requirements. Regular interaction with shop floor through cradle to grave including, FAT, SAT and on-site installation / commissioning. Prior to installation, delivery of RAMS and lifting plans to provide safe working environment for staff. Post manufacture included delivery of technical files for the end client.

Oversight of day-to-day operations, production, purchasing, staffing requirements, design and development, client interaction, quoting, R &D tax credits. Interaction with clients to develop products to what specifications they set out. Reviewing staff performance and progression Provision of LTQRP for compliance Management of welding consumables and material management including isolation to prevent cross contamination Painting and shot blasting inspection to ensure compliance.
