Operations Manager of a power generation company that built, commissioned, operated and maintained 34 micro power stations. Sites had solar, battery, diesel and gas engine installations with HVAC, UPS and cooling systems. Responsible for managing the supply chain, recruitment, contract delivery and tenders. Responsible for safe systems of work and production processes. Monthly Board meeting attendee. Advised on business strategy, governance, contracts and product line. Reported directly to the Managing Director. Promoted adherence to safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) standards and compliance. Company ranked as the Financial Times fastest growing engineering company in Europe Company had 60 permanent staff, 40 contractors. Delivered project financing from banks and pension companies to build critical infrastructure. Typical project sites were valued at £20m, with project spend of contracted goods and labour typically being £1-3m per power station at peak size of operations. I left the company on a full-time basis during the early phase of the pandemic but re-joined in 2021 and 2022 to help the company achieve UKAS recertification whilst assisting other clients.

Led a design and manufacturing team, supervising multiple staff on a robotics and automation engineering project. Reported directly to the engineering director, project budget £5.5m. Project was financed with value milestone funding via Innovate UK & National Grid Gas Transmission (NGGT). The company designed and produced 25 patents for National Grid Plc. The project built an inspection robot, bespoke designing the instrumentation, sensors, firmware, electronics, pressure seals and machined parts. I designed and detailed engineering drawings, led design reviews, wrote reports and line managed staff. I also assisted the business with new tenders and audits, and other gas and water treatment products that Synthotech produced.
