Engineers, in any discipline, are that breed of human beings who truly believe “impossible is nothing”.
“Difficult, challenging, arduous, painful, demanding, strenuous” and just plain old “hard” are words often used by that same group of people, but never “impossible”. Perhaps “ahead of it’s time”, but not “impossible”.
They firmly believe that there is always a way. It is engrained in their DNA.
They welcome problems so they can solve them, they relish a challenge, they are relentless in their pursuit of knowledge, they love telling people what to do, often stubborn and nothing is ever insurmountable (except maybe their quiet pride and even quieter ego).
…and if something has not been done yet – it is really only a matter of time.
This is who I am.
I am part of that breed of people who believes impossible is nothing.
My whole career has been what can only be described as an A&E of Engineering problems, varying as much in their discipline as in their complexity. With each challenge, I have had to constantly find innovative solutions ranging from Power System Upgrades, Railway Station Step-Free Access, Rolling Stock Reliability, Verification and Validation of Railway Management Systems, Station Design, System Design Assurance, System Technical Assurance, System Testing and Proving, System Requirements Specification Writing, Battery Energy Storage System Design
All problems at first all seem insurmountable, however, none are impossible.
