Elena Nicolaou

I have over 20 years of experience working in a laboratory as a senior and team leader scientist, and office environment, in academia, NHS, and in industry. My skills range from Interior Fit-out, team management, program management, lab and office design, life sciences and CV writer.

I achieved my BSc in Physiology from the University of London and went on to complete an MSc at VUB Brussels, in the area of molecular biology, and immunotherapy.

Subsequently, I was employed in NHS working in Haematology-Oncology Departments carrying out magnetic cell isolation, DNA/RNA extraction, Stem cell isolation, and growing expansion of Mesenchymal stem cells for transplantation. GMP/GLP experience, PCR, protein expression as well as laboratory and team management. Among my responsibilities, I was responsible for sourcing premises, agreeing on leases and contracts, the fit-out of the site, and bringing it to the standard required for laboratory and office work. Was directly involved in recruitment by screening individuals, conducting interviews, and prepared employment contracts, and provided onboarding induction and training to new starters, conducting intricate analysis of payroll processes
