For five years, I delved into the topic of "the value of experiential retail environments and in-store experience". The aim was to gain a better understanding of this topic in view of providing design support for practicing designers in their day-to-day. Two tools were researched and developed. The second more « hands on » tool allows retail designers and their retailer partners to discuss and reflect on all of the key elements that contribute to a valuable in store experience at the very beginning of their specific project’s design process. As an educator, I also took great pride in:

• teaching the 3rd bachelor Interior Architect students the theory behind retail design and then how to apply it in their studio/ project course

• providing more in-depth retail design theory to the master students who had selected the retail design specialisation the faculty offers

• supervising and supporting those same master students with their thesis

• contributing to the faculty's "retail design summer-school" open to international students with mixed training: fashion, architecture, interior, graphic design, business, economics, marketing and communication

• collaborating to courses taught at the faculty of business and economics

Contribution at all stages (brief, design & construction) of interior design fit-out schemes for different types of retail brands: supermarkets, pharmaceutical, DIY, F&B, services, etc. Belgian, French and Dutch retailers.
