Tiler/Bricklayer and Site Manager for several construction sites Work from plans and specifications. Seal foundations with damp-resistant materials. Spread layers of mortar to serve as a base and binder for bricks. Remove excess mortar, and check vertical and horizontal alignment. Use various tools and brick-cutting machines to cut and shape bricks. Construct arches and ornamental brickwork. Repair and maintain clay bricks. Cement blocks/bricks and related structures. Erect scaffolding Waterproofing of roofs with a sheath or other materials Mixed cement according to set guidelines Cut and saw bricks as needed Removed burned or damaged brick or mortar, using a sledgehammer, crowbar, chipping gun, or chisel. Applied and smoothed mortar or other mixture over the work surface. Calculated angles and courses and determining the vertical and horizontal alignment of courses. Examined brickwork or structure to determine the need for repair.
