I joined the IT team at a moment of vulnerability for them—they were understaffed and had been attempting to quickly re-skill workers to fill voids. With the support and resources of my manager, I jumped in to cover multiple positions. I have always seen myself as a quick learner and in this role, I was discovering something new every day. Alongside my technical development, I was improving my communication skills by running internal meetings, leading project check-ins with clients, and building surveys for platform customers. I found myself interacting with stakeholders of all types and developing efficiencies to accomplish my wide-ranging duties.

As Communications Specialist for a rapidly growing entrepreneurship center with a small number of personnel, I developed my skills at a pace to match the center’s ever-changing needs.
