About Mike

Hello, my name's Mike, nice to sort-of meet you.

I've been a colourist here in the UK for over 10 years now, working in post production for over 15. Most of that has been in Soho and at the main film studios around London. Like most colourists back in The Olden Times, I started in telecine, grading 16/35mm film rushes.

A lot of my career has involved dailies grading for features, including the likes of Star Wars, Mission Impossible, House of the Dragon and many others.

A full credit list of those is on my IMDB here: As well as this, I spent several years working for Pinewood and graded over 100 archive and restoration films for the BFI, StudioCanal and others. Things like BluRay releases for Waterworld and A Fish Called Wanda.

I spent a few years working on original stereo 3D, when that was still a thing.
In amongst this I've coloured a handful of DI features, a host of TV documentaries and a horde of short films for people.

More recently, on top of the film work, I've been grading a lot more shortform pieces like corporates and promos for use online.

With Covid and the move to more remote working, these smaller, shorter pieces are very easy to ping back and forth with any changes or revisions. If I am on a dailies job, it also means I'm able to grade or do tweaks when I get home at 3am. So it can be back in your inbox by the time you wake up.

It says remote only on my profile, but if I'm available, I am happy to travel to you for grading in person. Within central or the western side of London.

I primarily use Resolve for grading, if that's a question you were thinking of asking.

I'm afraid I don't have a recent showreel at the moment. Truth is, I've been too busy with work to make one.

Any other questions, feel free to get in touch.

Thanks
Mike
