Miguel Obando

Economist and MPA graduate specializing in macroeconomic, financial market and development analysis, with extensive experience addressing both micro and macroeconomic issues for emerging and OECD economies. I have successfully applied my expertise in coordinating multidisciplinary efforts and providing financial and management leadership on strategic projects at the National Planning Department (DNP), Colombia’s principal institution for national policy design. My work has contributed to the establishment of new policy benchmarks through the formulation of pivotal economic policy documents, development plans, and other key instruments. Additionally, I gained valuable international experience as Economic Counsellor at the Permanent Delegation of Colombia to the OECD, where I represented Colombia in analysing and drafting economic policy recommendations for over 50 economies, including several emerging markets. I am a dedicated, results-driven professional with strong consultancy skills, the flexibility to tackle new challenges, and a strong focus on advancing macroeconomic and financial topics in the private sector, particularly in emerging markets.
