    My poems have also been successful in competitions; my poetry has been nominated for The Pushcart Prize twice, shortlisted for The Anthony Cronin International Poetry Award 2018, commended in the 2019 Hippocrates Open Awards for Poetry and Medicine and one of my poems was a runner-up in the PBS & Mslexia Women's Poetry Competition 2018, judged by Carol Ann Duffy. One of my poems was commended in the Verve Poetry Festival Competition 2020 on the theme of diversity. A poem of mine was awarded second prize in the Newcastle Poetry Competition 2020. One of my poems received a special mention by judge Ilya Kaminsky in the Poetry London Prize 2020. A poem was highly commended in the Folklore Poetry Prize, highly commended in the Wales Poetry Award and I received a nomination for The Forward Prize for Best Single Poem. A small selection of my poems has been published in a multi-authored pamphlet, Co-Incidental 5 (The Black Light Engine Room Press, 2019).
