In my current position as Chief Scientist (Fractional) for Performance Improvement International BV, I work on AI/Decision Sciences problems in the energy sector, especially geothermal.

Since 2012 I have been associated with boutique data science consulting firms as their Chief / Principal Scientist on some very challenging Decision Sciences projects, especially focusing on optimization. I have been responsible for defining and implementing scientific and mathematical strategies for diverse problems including the following

Mathematical models for Development and Risk Management for one of the world's largest and most complex oilfields [Maersk Oil, Denmark].

Defensible oil allocation models in the face of varying well production [Maersk Oil]

•

Optimization models for a multi-year financial investment management system [Schroders, UK]

•

Inventory optimization models for the world’s largest mining company [BHP, Australia]

•

Optimization models for the “supply chain” of one of the world’s most complex CCS projects [Total Energies, France]

•

Development of statistical machine learning models for order-flow-based intra-day trading [Client not disclosed]

•

Development of a proof-of-concept for optimal design of geothermal wells + piping for a district heating network in the Netherlands [Cogas, Netherlands]

PEA was a boutique firm offering specialized consulting services around quantitative methods for workload modeling, capacity planning and performance diagnosis of IT systems. The focus was on demonstrating the value of rigorous scientific methods from the discipline of queuing theory and stochastics. Our clients included names like Honeywell, Misys, Toyota and Aztecsoft.

At Infosys I played several roles. As a research associate in the Education and Research Division of the company I was responsible for mentoring designers in the area of OOAD; I was also the lead architect and mentor for Infosys' first few OOAD projects during 1995-98. From I led the Software Concept Laboratory, a research group responsible for IP creation and reporting directly to the Infosys board, that was responsible for Infosys' first successful submission to the JavaOne Technical Session, for Infosys' first successful US patents, and for several IEEE and ACM papers. I was based In this role I was responsible for some very innovative consulting and enterprise re-engineering solutions delivered at the CIO level to big names like Texas Instruments, Mouser/TTI, BNSF, Goldman Sachs, and International Paper, to name a few. My work earned me the Infosys Chairman's Award for Excellence in Innovation.
