Reha Akcakaya

As one of two Independent Board Members at this heavy industry machine manufacturer of gearboxes and decanters for food and mining industries, I assist the shareholders and the group of companies with complex problems such as inventory management, quality management, sales, financial issues and global strategy.

As founding CEO, was responsible for commercialization of the Basalia invention, building start-up company structure, preparation of the company for rapid expansion and globalization. Established organization's business development and sales strategy. Approached 100 top companies in one year, including some of the top 500 Turkish as well as global companies in automotive, FMCG, food processing, chemicals, iron&steel, textile, leather, and pharma sectors. Two large scale projects were awarded by Şişecam and Döhler which had sizes of 15 m€ and 7 m€, respectively. Joined negotiations with potential investors.

As head of R&D, my reponsibilities included leadership and active involvement in;

• • R&D project portfolio of the whole Group initially as Deputy in parallel with Flat Glass Business,

• • Sisecam Science, Technology and Design Center and satellite labs to support glass manufacturing business groups with product development, furnace design,
