Mechanical sub-system expert enabling effective working relationships between international colleagues, customers and suppliers. Comfortable working in a cross-functional team. Key functions include:
- Sub-system design leader for GM GEM project. Being the first point of contact for all sensor related issues.
- Mechanical sub-system expert. Creating and presenting training material which is used to teach and inform student engineers, new starters, manufacturing and quality personnel and other sub-system engineers the details of the sub-system design, history and design reasoning of the product.
- Pivotal role as change management process expert for the sub-system team. Including project work within several PLM systems.
- A regular presenter and panel member of the Change Review Board.
- Responsible for sub-system component and assembly engineering drawings (including CAD data and BOM management).
- Detailed design using GD&T and tolerance stack-ups.
- Concept development using DFM and DFA approaches.
- Proficient in the use of the DRBFM tool.
- Owner and developer of the sensor packaging envelope, providing clear physical requirements for sensor suppliers and neighbouring sub-systems.
- Sensor supplier mechanical interface engineer. Guiding suppliers on how to design and package their product into the appropriate sub-system.
- Engineering representative for sensor turned parts, focused on international supplier development, cost down packages and quality improvements.
