I'm Simon James, a video editor, creative consultant and media professional.

I work to guide you on your project through to fruition, providing you with the support you need in video editing or creative consulting. With multiple projects under my belt, including theatrically released documentaries, documentary series for Amazon Prime, and advertising videos for both social media and television release, I bring a wealth of experience, a creative eye, but, most of all, a dedication to produce your product to your deadlines and brief.

Amongst this I also bring experience in UX and UI design, allowing me insights to understanding clients and therefore making judgements that put the audience at the centre, utlising colour theory, hierarchy of data and persona creation to ensure your project meets its intended audience as well as its creative vision.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

In charge of television series post-production

Importing, marking and editing footage

Creation of regular deliverables, sequences and episodes including scripts and question sheets

I was hired for my experience in story and narrative creation to take the lead on the post-production management of a multi-episode series for television.

I quickly introduced a standardised work-flow for editing in order to increase the smooth co-operation between team members and for efficient compiling of sequences.

In reviewing eighteen months of previously shot footage I identified the key story points and made the decisions to re-address the previously compiled episodes and find a new centred focus. From this I co-ordinated with the production team on the new character direction, providing them with scene scenarios and question sheets for contributors in order to streamline shoots and thus effectively time manage post-production processes.

I Ideated, planed and produced promotional content across Europe. Developing the tenacity to shoot, log and edit on the go.

Approaching the tasks with an open mind I was able to capture the primary tourist sights in a number of key European travel destinations in order to best promote the business.
